At Tamar River Cruises, our purpose-built vessels are designed to showcase the beauty of Launceston’s waterways in comfort and style. Operating from the Home Point Cruise Terminal since 1996, our two vessels have welcomed over a million passengers while exploring the spectacular Cataract Gorge and the Tamar Valley.
Each vessel offers a unique cruising experience, with spacious lounge seating, open viewing areas and knowledgeable local crew who bring the region’s history and landscapes to life.

Lady Launceston
Elegant and distinctive, the Lady Launceston was purpose built for navigating the dramatic waters of Cataract Gorge. Inspired by the traditional riverboats of the late 1800s, the vessel blends heritage character with modern engineering. Her quiet hybrid electric drive allows the vessel to glide silently through the Gorge, creating a peaceful and immersive experience beneath the towering dolerite cliffs and native bushland. The vessel’s comfortable lounge seating and open viewing areas provide excellent vantage points for photography and sightseeing, while its smaller size creates a more intimate cruise experience.
Tamar Odyssey
Purpose built for exploring the Tamar River, the Tamar Odyssey is a spacious twin-deck catamaran designed to deliver a smooth and comfortable cruising experience. The vessel features an open-plan layout with comfortable lounge seating throughout, allowing guests to move easily between the upper, lower and outer decks while enjoying uninterrupted river views. The stable catamaran design provides a relaxed journey on the sheltered waters of the river, making it ideal for longer scenic cruises and special occasions on board.
